I want to solve a riddle that was given to me as this hexeditor -data fragment, one of my fellow competitors has already found the solution:
0000 00 17 31 88 de 51 00 05 5d dd 15 72 08 00 45 00 ..1..Q.. ] ..r..E. 0010 00 54 00 00 40 00 40 01 f1 34 c0 a8 64 01 c0 a8 .T..@.@. . 4..d... 0020 64 22 08 00 a3 65 5e 1b 00 04 1c 2d 32 4b b9 ff d"...e^. . ..-2K.. 0030 03 00 08 09 0a 0b 0c 0d 0e 0f 10 11 12 13 14 15 ........ . ....... 0040 16 17 18 19 1a 1b 1c 1d 1e 1f 20 21 22 23 24 25 ........ . . !"#$% 0050 26 27 28 29 2a 2b 2c 2d 2e 2f 30 31 32 33 34 35 &'()*+,- . /012345 0060 36 37
As you see the second half of this data consist of increasing b ytes only so I assume this may be the key to interpret the firs t half in which the "message" is hidden. This could be a text ( probably in German language), a sound, a picture or whatever th at I could associate with a specific term or name. This would b e the solution of the riddle. I am not skilled in programming so I downloaded some XOR-decryp tion tools and just tried to enter the first half and decode it with the second half but maybe I did it wrong or used a wrong entries or formats ??? As here are many specialist I kindly ask you if you could "play " a bit with the data pack above and check if the split in two parts is a wise thought and if this could lead to figure out th e first half ???
Maybe there is another way to understand what these top lines c ould hide as I do assume that the message is in the first half within the "unstructured" data??!
very kind regards, riddle
