Rapid growth of Indian economy and earning capacity of population resulting banking scenario in India is witnessing a dramatic change in the patterns of product creation and consumption. To keep in pace, the banking environment today is changing fast. Various payment method like NEFT, ECS, RTGS, IMPS, UPI introduced by RBI to make banking more efficient, fast and reliable. RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) is the fastest possible money transfer system through the banking channel. Settlement in “real time” means Payment transaction is not subjected to any waiting period. The transactions are settled as soon as they are processed. “Gross settlement” means the transaction is settled on one to one basis without bunching with any other transaction. In this study author identify RTGS process, methods, advantages, disadvantages and its working. |
