Six Sigma is a statistical methodology which involves multi-faceted business driven approach and the ability to improve processes, reduce costs and experience increase in profits. This improvement tool is extensively utilized in manufacturing, industrial and services industry. The purpose of this project is to discover the implications and evaluate critical success factors for successful six sigma implementation.
For a Six Sigma project implementation to produce the expected results, organizational roles and responsibilities must be clearly defined and aligned. If Executives and Champions are trained and Black Belts and Green Belts are not, the probability of success decreases to virtually nothing. The reverse is true as well. None of these situations will produce the type of results that will occur when Six Sigma practitioners are placed in the correct support environment.
Scope of the study to identify various methodology and tools available in six sigma process and its implementation Six Sigma professionals are traditionally known for demonstrating cost savings, they also should be regarded as those who execute strategy. By building the process of project selection around the most immediate organizational objectives, Six Sigma professionals can enhance the importance of their own work and optimize their contribution to the organization’s success. |
